A debut novel by Bill Beverly entitled Dodgers has been acquired by No Exit Press in advance of the Frankfurt Book Fair. The novel, described in The Bookseller as ‘dark’, ‘haunting’ and a ‘major new voice in American fiction’, was sold by agent Caspian Dennis of Literary Agency Abner Stein (Roland Gardens, London).
Abner Stein founded the agency some 45 years ago, and ran it until his passing in 2011. Described by Andrew Franklin, founder and MD of Profile Books as ‘the original super agent’, Stein had a focus on placing the works of American publishers with UK editors but the agency also works directly with new authors.
A long-standing agency of impeccable reputation, though with a website that might possibly belong to another time, they have done a good job for Bill Beverly, and we look forward to the publication of this novel in March of 2016.
